Computerized Tomography (CT / CAT) Scan

COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY (CT), also called Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) scan, uses a computer to take data from several X-ray images of structures inside the human body and convert them into pictures on a monitor.Tomography is the process of generating a 2-dimensional image of a slice or section through a 3-dimensional object, similar to looking at one slice of bread within the whole loaf. The Siemens Somatom Scope is a whole-body CT Scanner with fast scanning speed, low dose and excellent image quality, providing a complete range of CT applications. It includes advanced features such as CARE Dose 4D, IRIS, SureView reconstruction algorithm and Adaptive Signal Boost technology, which help reduce dose, reduce noise and significantly improve image quality.CT scanning generates cross-sectional images of the human body, allowing Radiologists to evaluate internal organs in great clinical detail. Abnormalities can be picked up easily on a CT Scan. It can also generate 3D reconstructions and volume reconstructed images, helping clinicians gain a better understanding.

Organs and Applications Covered

  • Brain, Orbit, PNS and Neck
  • Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis
  • Joints and Spine with 3D CT
  • CT Angio: Brain, Carotid, Pulmonary, Aorta, Renal and Peripheral
  • CT Urogram
  • Virtual Colonoscopy and Bronchoscopy
  • Dental CT

Technology and Patient Safety

Our CT SOMATOM Scope includes cockpit technology and enables compliance with the NEMA XR-29 Smart Dose Standard, ensuring a safer imaging experience for patients. The SOMATOM Scope uses Siemens iterative reconstruction in image space (IRIS) technology, which accelerates image reconstruction while reducing noise and artifacts. It also includes Siemens Fully Assisting Scanner Technology (FAST) and Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure (CARE), helping reduce radiation exposure and standardize the CT imaging process.
